Italy the other wine country. Tuscan evening: wine tasting
In the heart of the Marais, there is the famous old market built under Louis XIII, on the site of the orphanage of the Red Children: the Red being, at that time, symbol of Christianity and charity. Closed under the French Revolution, it fell in the lap of the City of Paris in 1912 and later became a place of delicacies allowing to go around the world through your tastebuds. Legend has it that the good King Henry IV of France wanted to make it a place dedicated to the glory of the French provinces. Hence the sweet names of Poitou, Saintonge, Brittany etc
It is in this intensely cultural place, culinaryly open to the world that I went to in good company to let me enchanted by the sweetness and wonders of Tuscany.
One can only dream of Florence, art, architecture, the Medici and la dolce vita.
The bar, friendly and welcoming sets you at ease once the pushed the entrance door. It could be one of those many wine bars full of banter and bistrot Parisian spirit, but its difference lies in its authenticity, such a tremendous big plus. Technological and technical innovation, simple in appearance, but needed to be thought and done. Exit the sacrosanct glass bottle, finally, let’s say it starts to yield a little ground and hello, finally welcome back Mr cubi. A little bit of European history: the Romans, great drinker before the Lord, paid tribute to their God Bacchus drinking wine from amphoras. You have to wait until 1822s, for commercial reasons of export to the perfidious Albion, that Mr Nicolas (founder of the winehouse of the same name) invents the glass bottle so that this one gradually supplants the frenchy french cubi.
A good thought never dies; the idea to modernize the concept become “In the Box” brings back the cubi from its ashes and thus starts the adventure Bibovino with Frantz Roesch and accomplices. With a single leitmotiv: the passion and the desire to transmit.
Always thinking ahead, the wine consumed is organic, vegan, white or red. Trendsetter, the brand invites and collaborates with renowned winegrowers from all wine-growing regions of France and Navarre, Jean-Paul Brun in Beaujolais (Saint-Amour), Christophe Pichon in the Rhone valley (Côte-Rôtie) , Emmanuel Giboulot in Beaune (Hautes-Côtes de Nuit) or even the last one Christophe Pichon and his Condrieu (Bordeaux Blanc Supérieur). The latters regularly come to make you taste their best wines. Better, forgotten the idea of camping with the Tuches one July evening around a giant cubi containing bad rosé. If the content is divine, the container is ecological: recyclable and easily transportable. Innovative revolution it is!
This Wednesday, April 19th was the occasion for a nice and original discovery and a real moment of sharing not only tasty: wines from Italy (Buccia Nera) terrines (French pâtés) with amusing packaging and raunchy names “La grosse cochonne = meaning the slutty piggy one” The little antipastis nibbling perfetti, but especially, above all the delicious music with the melancholic sound of the harp. From classic to contemporary music theme: Star Wars or Nirvana. Would you have believed this possible: Nirvana on the Harp? Anyway, ladies and gents, the grand cru was in in the glasses as well as in the ears thanks to musician Romain- another wink to Italy -Jurmande
We and we strongly recommand it
