This unusual and lively district shows the remains of the Roman occupation back in the days, when Paris was called Lutetia (the mud). Leaving these glorious relics, you venture into the heart of the history of Paris, in the rue Mouffetard the word itself evoking the Bievre, you can have a thought for the spouses Curie discoverers of radium before entering the holy of holies, convent with its Baroque architecture whose gardens are a pure delight. Another mystery will be revealed at to the Irish College (Collège des Irlandais) before finishing this tour at the Place de la Contrescarpe.
